Smriti Chandrashekar joined Hintze Law in October 2017 as a Privacy Analyst conducting privacy research and analysis and data protection impact assessments. She also serves as a Teaching Assistant to the Technology Law and Public Policy Clinic at the University of Washington, School of Law. Smriti obtained her law degree from University Law College in Bangalore, India. She practiced as an attorney at Lakshmi, Kumaran & Sridharan, a law firm in Bangalore, where she advised on indirect tax issues in the areas of excise and customs levy and value added taxes. After completing her Master of Laws (L.L.M.) from Harvard Law School, with a focus on law and economics, Smriti worked at the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C. on e-governance issues. Smriti later worked as a Research Associate at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), an economic policy think tank in New Delhi, researching on issues of digitization, tech policy and Internet regulation.
Smriti is not yet admitted to the Washington State Bar.
