Cameron Cantrell
Cameron Cantrell is an Associate at Hintze Law PLLC. Cameron represents companies on privacy issues, drawing from her experience in comprehensive and sector-specific state privacy laws (consumer health, medical records, genetics, biometrics) and areas of ongoing federal regulation (HIPAA, GLBA, the DOJ Cross-Border Data Transfers Rule, and human subject research). Cameron’s technical background and secondment experience at biotech, consumer health, and social media companies help her work across business units, forming her guidance as practical steps and in furtherance of each team’s specific legal and commercial goals.
Before joining Hintze as an Associate, Cameron spent time at the firm as a Summer Associate working across the privacy suite, including privacy and data security policies, data processing agreements, and data subject rights under US and EU law. Cameron previously interned at both Susman Godfrey, supporting contract litigation, and at the ACLU of Washington, analyzing privacy and surveillance legislation.
Cameron graduated from the University of Washington School of Law, where she researched carceral technologies as a Hazelton Fellow in the renowned University of Washington Tech Policy Lab and led police technology research in the school’s Technology Law and Public Policy Clinic. She authored a note published in the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology (25:1) proposing a Fourth Amendment framework for mobile phone searches by police.
She also served as Co-President of the Cyberlaw Association of Washington, Community Relations Chair for the Public Interest Law Association, and Articles Editor for the Washington Journal of Law, Technology & Arts. Cameron completed her B.S., magna cum laude, at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
