Felicity Slater

Felicity Slater is an Associate at Hintze Law PLLC. Felicity represents companies on AI, privacy, and cybersecurity issues, drawing from her experience in consumer privacy at the FTC and state levels, technologies processing health, location or other sensitive data, and ad tech.

Felicity has experience with the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, state consumer health laws such as Washington State’s My Health, My Data Act, state-based health information laws such as the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA), the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), state comprehensive and sectoral privacy laws, and the FTC Act. Felicity has gained valuable in-house experience being seconded with the Privacy Legal team of a billion-dollar health and wellness company. 

Felicity was most recently a Policy Fellow at the Future of Privacy Forum, where she performed research and analysis of consumer privacy laws, bills, and regulatory activity on the FPF’s U.S. Legislation team. 

During law school, Felicity served on the editorial and executive boards of the Boston University School of Law Journal of Science and Technology Law, as a Consumer Debt Practicum student attorney, and as a Matthew Z. Gomes Fellow at the BU/MIT Technology Law Clinic. She also worked as a research assistant for Professors Danielle Citron (privacy), Rory Van Loo (consumer protection), and Stacey Dogan (trademark and trade secrets).  

Felicity co-authored an article with Professor Stacey Dogan entitled “The Long Shadow of Inevitable Disclosure,” which was published in Volume 30:3 of the George Mason Law Review. Felicity received the Melville M. Bigelow Scholarship Graduation Award (awarded by the faculty for legal scholarship). 

Prior to law school, Felicity earned her M.Phil. from The City University of New York and BA from Grinnell College.
