Jennifer Ruehr
Jennifer Ruehr is a Partner at Hintze Law PLLC and co-chair of the firm’s Workplace Privacy Group, Cybersecurity and Breach Response Group, and the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Group.
Jennifer advises a diverse range of clients, including leading technology, automotive, airline, telecommunication, publishing, and media companies to innovative start-ups. She provides business-focused, actionable legal advice on privacy program development, AI risk management, and complex data agreements.
With nearly twenty years of in-house experience, Jennifer offers practical and strategic counseling and operational support for:
Compliance with federal, state, and local privacy laws
Drafting and negotiating data processing and transfer agreements
Vendor risk management programs
Online and mobile tracking technologies
Cybersecurity program development and incident response, including policy and process development, strategies for multi-stakeholder engagement, tabletop exercises, and breach coaching
Assessing requirements for privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and AI governance and managing risks in technology development
Biometrics, location data, and children’s data issues

Jennifer has special expertise in workplace privacy, including developing internal privacy policies and workforce notices, retention and deletion programs, and workplace privacy assessments. She advises on privacy issues risks related to collecting and using workforce biometric, health, and location data, background checks, employee profiling, workplace investigations, implementing AI systems, and automated decision-making in the workplace.
Previously, Jennifer was Legal Counsel, Privacy and Security, at Adobe Systems Incorporated, where she guided global data protection compliance and strategy. She also supported Adobe’s product development teams on data and licensing compliance and provided counsel on advertising and marketing issues.
