Leslie Veloz
Leslie Veloz is an Associate at Hintze Law PLLC. Since joining Hintze in 2021, Leslie has excelled in identifying, evaluating, and deftly managing many clients' complex U.S. and international privacy issues. She offers clients pragmatic and result-driven legal counsel for establishing, maintaining, and maturing effective privacy programs. Leslie counsels a diverse clientele, spanning innovative startups to Fortune 100 corporations, addressing a broad spectrum of global AI, data privacy, and cybersecurity concerns.
Substantive areas of expertise include health privacy, privacy and security by design, vendor risk management, privacy risk assessments, internal privacy policies, joint controller and data processing agreements, external privacy notices, children privacy, AI/ML technologies, U.S. state comprehensive and federal privacy laws, the GDPR, global incident response and breach notification, and M&A privacy due diligence. She keeps clients well-informed about the ever-evolving privacy regulatory environment through tailored easy-to-understand training materials, workshops, C-suite presentations, and simplified, accessible explanations of intricate and emerging laws.
Leslie leverages her experience in counseling several multi-billion-dollar enterprises to advise clients on the best industry practices and compliance strategies. She has also helped clients assess and mitigate the legal, regulatory, policy, and reputational risks associated with the development, deployment, and implementation of AI & ML technologies.
Outside of her professional role at Hintze, Leslie demonstrates a deep commitment to the local community through her leadership roles in various nonprofits and recognitions for exemplary service. Her involvement extends to various professional organizations, highlighting her dedication to advancing diversity and privacy expertise in the legal field. Before joining Hintze Law, Leslie was the first-ever Privacy Intern for T-Mobile, gaining valuable experience implementing state, federal, and global privacy and compliance laws. During law school, she worked in the New Jersey Attorney General's Office within the Cyber Crimes Bureau and held positions as a law clerk for the Honorable John Michael Vazquez, U.S.D.J.
