We are pleased to announce the three most recent additions to the Hintze Law team: Julia Allen-Pi’ilani as Privacy Analyst, Charlotte Lunday as Associate, and Chehalis Dorman as Associate*.
Julia has experience with large tech, media, entertainment, and telecommunications companies on data protection compliance solution design and implementation, conducting data protection impact assessments and records of processing activities in support of GDPR and CCPA compliance, handling data breach response, and responding to regulatory investigations.
Julia was a founding employee and first office manager of Hintze Law. Before returning to Hintze Law as a privacy analyst, she gained experience as a Technology Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Prior to PwC, Julia studied Information Systems and Finance at the University of Washington Michael G. Foster School of Business (Foster). During her time at Foster, Julia sat on the board of the National Association of Black Accountants and the University of Washington Black Student Commission.
Charlotte Lunday represents a wide range of companies on privacy and security issues. She has experience conducting privacy impact assessments, defending companies in regulatory enforcement actions and investigations, conducting privacy by design counseling, and drafting privacy policies. Substantive areas of expertise include, the FTC Act, California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA), CalOPPA, CPNI, geolocation, mobile apps, ad tech, biometrics and facial recognition, and data security compliance.
Prior to Hintze Law, Charlotte spent two years clerking for the Honorable Douglass A. North at the King County Superior Court. Prior to working at the court, Charlotte earned her juris doctor from the University of Washington School of Law, where she was the Executive Online Editor of the Washington Law Review and a research assistant at the University of Washington’s Tech Policy Lab.
Charlotte has experience working on state privacy legislation through the University of Washington’s Technology Law and Public Policy Clinic.
Our newest member, Chehalis Dorman, is a recent graduate of the University of Washington School of Law. Chehalis first joined the firm as a summer associate in 2019, during which time she gained experience working on global data protection issues including data breach notification laws, privacy impact assessments, GDPR, and privacy statements. She also has experience in researching, analyzing, and drafting summaries of new laws and amendments.
Prior to Hintze Law, Chehalis worked for the Tulalip Tribes as a Summer Law Clerk and with Snoqualmie Tribe where she worked as an Interim Education Director.
At the University of Washington School of Law, Chehalis served as President of the University of Washington Native American Law Student Association (NALSA) and participated in the International Human Rights Clinic.
