Susan Hintze, Founder and Co-Managing Partner of Hintze Law PLLC, has been appointed to the IAPP’s Board of Directors for a five-year term beginning 2025.
The IAPP announced the addition of Susan along with fellow new directors: Volkswagen Group Chief Privacy Officer Oliver Draf, Google Data Protection Officer Kristie Chon Flynn, and GE Healthcare Chief Privacy and Data Trust Officer Lara Liss. The IAPP is the largest and most impactful organization for AI governance, privacy, & cybersecurity professionals globally. Founded in 2000, the IAPP helps define, promote, and improve the global information economy.

Susan brings to the IAPP Board more than 20 years of experience and excellence in the privacy field. She has had a long history with the IAPP, including serving on multiple advisory boards, achieving the Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) designation, and being honored as a Westin Emeritus Fellow. She has shared her deep expertise with other organizations as well, including serving as an Adviser to the American Law Institute’s project on Information Privacy Principles, as Co-Chair of RSA Conference Privacy Programming, and as a Privacy Advisory Committee Member to the City of Seattle.
Susan has been widely recognized for her substantive expertise, including Chambers Partners 2024 USA Privacy & Data Security rankings and its 2024 Global Privacy & Data rankings, as well as Best Lawyers in America 2025 edition in the practice areas of Advertising Law and Information Technology Law. One of Susan’s privacy clients was quoted in the 2024 Chambers & Partners rankings regarding her approach: “She delivers outstanding client service.
