Susan and Mike Hintze Recognized in 2025’s Best Lawyers in America

Hintze Law PLLC is delighted to announce that Susan Hintze, Managing Partner, and Mike Hintze, Member Partner, have been recognized by Best Lawyers®.  

Susan has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® 2025 edition in the practice areas of Advertising Law and Information Technology Law.  

Mike was voted the 2025 "Lawyer of the Year" for Information Technology Law in Seattle as well as being recognized in the Technology Law practice area. 

Recognition in The Best Lawyers in America® is based on the geographic region and practice areas of the lawyers. Recognized lawyers are selected by peers based on professional expertise and are also evaluated by The Best Lawyers in America®. 

Susan has been recognized in Chambers & Partners 2024 USA Privacy & Data Security rankings and its 2024 Global Privacy & Data rankings. Susan is also a Westin Emeritus Fellow with the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP). She has also served as an Adviser to the American Law Institute’s project on Information Privacy Principles, and as a Privacy Advisory Committee Member to the City of Seattle.  

Prior to founding Hintze Law 10 years ago, Susan formed and led privacy groups at Cooley LLP and Perkins Coie and served as in-house privacy counsel at Dell and Microsoft.  

Mike has also been recognized in Chambers & Partners 2024 USA Privacy & Data Security rankings and its  2024 Global Privacy & Data rankings.  

Mike also teaches privacy law at the University of Washington School of Law and is a Senior Fellow with the Future of Privacy Forum. He has served as an adviser to the American Law Institute’s project on Data Privacy Principles, as well as multiple advisory boards for the International Association of Privacy Professionals and other organizations.  

Before joining Hintze Law, Mike was Chief Privacy Counsel at Microsoft, where, for over 18 years, he counselled on data protection compliance globally and helped lead the company’s strategic initiatives on privacy differentiation and public policy.
