Irene Mo
We are excited to announce that Irene Mo has joined the Hintze Law team as our first Bay Area associate. Irene joins us from a boutique privacy consulting firm, Aleada Consulting, where she served as Senior Associate.
Irene counsels US and international clients on data privacy compliance and risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Her work includes performing records of processing activities, data protection impact assessments, privacy by design reviews, and developing data protection compliance programs.
Irene’s prior experiences include a residency as a NextGen Fellow at the American Bar Association Center for Innovation, where she focused on the privacy and data security risks faced by low-income and marginalized individuals; Summer Associate at Edelson PC, working on class action privacy litigation; Innovation Assistant for LegalRnD - The Center for Legal Services Innovation at Michigan State University College of Law; Law Extern at the State of Michigan Attorney General’s Office; and Legal Intern for the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University.
Irene has been recognized by Legaltech News as one of the "18 Millennials Changing the Face of Legal Tech,” and by the American Bar Association's Legal Technology Resource Center as a 2018 "Women of Legal Tech."
Irene currently serves as Community Lead for Women in Security and Privacy (WISP); Inaugural Board Member of Diversity in Privacy Advisory Board and Co-Chair of the San Francisco Bay Area Knowledge Net with the International Association of Privacy Professionals; Co-Chair of the Data Privacy / Cybersecurity Committee of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) Silicon Valley; Fellow at the Internet Law & Policy Foundry; and Board Member of Lagniappe Law Lab.
Irene graduated from Michigan University College of Law, JD (cum laude) and the University of Michigan-Dearborn, B.S. and B.A. (with distinction) and is licensed to practice in Michigan and California.
Irene has earned CIPP-US and CIPP-E privacy certifications and is a One Trust Fellow of Privacy Technology having all 10 OneTrust Certifications, including a One Trust Certified Professional certification.
